Click Charges

Click charges are a deeply engrained and fully accepted mindset in the world of toner based imaging. While most end users loathe them they also accept them and even embrace them as a means of knowing their production costs in relation to selling prices. It truly is a love/hate relationship but is a click charge truly necessary in this day and age?

A growing understanding of the digital print process as well as available software can now enable a digital printer to calculate their own true costs of toner usage. It's no longer the enigmatic mystery it once was. And how about service? Most current users have practically adopted their Service Tech as a new family member. Ever wonder why they have to be there so often and exactly what are they doing? Good thing the car you drive and the planes you fly on aren’t as unreliable!

Since its inception in 1982, MGI has created a worldwide presence with their line of digital presses. One of their greatest accomplishments has been the incredible track record of product reliability and durability. For example, worldwide, the previous flagship model (DP-60) averaged 2.3 service calls per year. That's worth repeating….. 2.3 service calls per year on average. That's not to say other routine maintenance isn't required because it certainly is but the majority of work that is needed is now typically done by the owner, not the vendor. That's money back in your pocket!

Other manufacturers will steadfastly argue the need for a click charge. They've been doing it this way a long, long time and are very, very good at it. They're in business to make money just like the rest of us and there's nothing wrong with that but don't be fooled into thinking it's a great deal for the end user or that no alternative exists. Companies don't sell things they don't make a profit on and regardless of what the manufacturer might tell you, they are the real beneficiaries of the click charge, not you, and they wish to keep it that way.

So, consider this, if you can now determine your own toner costs and you can have a product such as the Meteor DP-8700XL which does not require constant vendor attention, why pay a click charge or exorbitant maintenance contract? Take control and give your bottom line a break! It's the new age of digital print courtesy of MGI and Precision Graphics!

Drylam Laminators and Films

Not all digital toner type laminating films are created equal. Various digital print engines create a variety of difficult to adhere to surfaces. Most films may only perform well on some digital toner based output, and fail on others. Drylam's Super-Lam with ASAP adhesive runs equally well on ALL toner based prints and conventional offset prints! The wide running temp range of Super-Lam films allows the end user to dial in the ideal temperature and speed settings to insure adhesion to any digital toner or conventional offset prints. Like all Drylam films, Super-Lam also contains higher polyester base film thickness to improve clarity, rigidity and depth of finished lamination. The ALM3220 Automatic Laminator with Super-Lam ASAP film is the ideal solution for highest quality laminating of your digital output.
